Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are actually open and will shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home by using a combined gross home earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence revenue doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 nsfas status check 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the right Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or plan to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges nsfas status should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results nsfas status check to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
